Create a Livable Outdoor Space by Adding a Deck

Outdoor livable space is a popular trend. You can set up an outdoor seating area, outdoor kitchen or outdoor dining space. This allows you to entertain guests outside or host a larger party than what your home can hold. This trend inspired my wife and I to build our own outdoor livable space. However, one of the biggest decisions we faced was what the base for our space would be. We could use concrete, lay pavers or construct a deck. After doing a lot of research, we decided on a deck. It was a challenging decision, but we are pleased with the outcome. In fact, we are so happy we decided to start this blog and help educate other people on decks and livable spaces. Learn the benefits, learn the downside, learn how to care for your and learn what kinds of wood are best for an outdoor deck.

Is A Running Toilet Causing Odors And Concerns? When To Call An Emergency Plumber

by Kelly Simmons

If you have a toilet that is running and you are wondering if you can wait until morning to have it looked at, or if you should call an emergency plumber, there are a few things to take into consideration. You want to do what you can to make sure that the house isn't flooding or that there aren't emergency problems with the plumbing, but an emergency plumber may not be required. Here are signs that indicate the problem can't wait until regular business hours, and that you have to make the call fast.

You Have a Well and Septic Tank

If you are not hooked up to a main city water line with sewer, and instead you have a well, the running toilet could be causing the well to run low, and then the constant water going down the sewer line could cause the septic tank to flood. This would cause water problems and sanitation concerns, and you have to stop the toilet from running right away. If you have both of these you want to call the professionals.

There is Water Leaking

If you can see what water is leaking out of the bottom of the toilet, or from anywhere inside the house, then you want to call a plumber that can arrive no matter what the time. This can damage the flooring, drywall, structural beams in the house, and all other materials the leak comes in contact with. Water and sewage can also result to the spreading of mold and bacteria in your home.

You Smell Sewage

A smell of sewage in the home is a huge problem. You want to call an emergency plumber if you can smell human waste, and you want to get everyone out of the house until the source of the odors is found, along with any pets that are inside the property. Inhalation can be very dangerous, even fatal.

If you have discovered that a toilet is running and you have a plumbing problem, and you don't know if the problem is minor or major, you want to make sure that you aren't putting everyone at risk. If any of these different issues are a problem, then you want to get an emergency plumber to your property as fast as you can, and you may have to take everyone outside of the home so you don't have to be concerned with problems.
