Create a Livable Outdoor Space by Adding a Deck

Outdoor livable space is a popular trend. You can set up an outdoor seating area, outdoor kitchen or outdoor dining space. This allows you to entertain guests outside or host a larger party than what your home can hold. This trend inspired my wife and I to build our own outdoor livable space. However, one of the biggest decisions we faced was what the base for our space would be. We could use concrete, lay pavers or construct a deck. After doing a lot of research, we decided on a deck. It was a challenging decision, but we are pleased with the outcome. In fact, we are so happy we decided to start this blog and help educate other people on decks and livable spaces. Learn the benefits, learn the downside, learn how to care for your and learn what kinds of wood are best for an outdoor deck.

3 Affordable Ways To Make Your Home's Exterior Look Better

by Kelly Simmons

Do you want to make your home look better from the outside? After making some renovations to the home's interior, you may now be focused on transforming the exterior. Whether you're planning to sell it in the future or simply want to make sure your home looks beautiful both inside and outside, there are a few affordable ways to change the exterior for the better.

Get Rid of the Old Entry Door

The entry door to your home is probably several years old. If you never purchased it and it was there when you first bought the home, there is a chance it hasn't been changed in over a decade. A quick, easy, and fairly affordable way to transform your home's exterior would be to get rid of the old entry door and replace it with one of the many fiberglass options.

There are four primary reasons to select fiberglass doors out of all other materials that are available. Fiberglass is durable enough to provide security to your home, it comes in tons of different beautiful colors and styles, the material of the door will help you conserve energy, and any fiberglass door would drastically improve the overall appearance of the home. Start looking at the hundreds of different options available and then select the style you prefer.

Give the Property a Deep Cleaning

If you're not planning on painting the outside of the home but you've noticed it doesn't look as bright or as clean as it once did, you can easily solve that problem by giving it a deep cleaning. Don't worry about pulling out the scrub brushes and the cleansers because there is a much easier way to quickly remove any dirt from the outside of a building. You can use a pressure washer to quickly lift away any unwanted dirt, leaving your home's exterior looking the best it's looked in years. If you don't own a pressure washer, you may be able to rent one from a local store without spending much of your money.

Hire a Landscaper

After replacing your old entry door and cleaning the outside of the home with a pressure washer, consider hiring a landscaper to cut and trim plants, bushes, and trees that may be growing around your property. If it's been a while since the trees, bushes, and other plants were trimmed, they may look a bit wild, and that is something that will take away from the beauty of your home. A landscaper could use different tools to trim and shape everything up, making sure the outside of the property is as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

There are some affordable ways to improve the look of your home from the outside. A new door, a thorough cleaning, and some good landscaping can make such a major difference.
